S4 Punch/Shear System
The S4 has a MultiPress Punch Head with more than 40 live stations. It has an integrated CS Shearing system.
All S4s have automated loading, ranging from the MD Sheet tower shown here to single scissor table or even a full MV Warehouse. It depends on your requirements.
The S4 shown here included the MD Sheet Stores and the IA Universal Stacking system with a Run-out table on the end. This permits the system to either stack the blanks or to discharge the blanks where they would be manually stacked, formed, or assembled. >>>
P4 Bending Systems have many features not visible in this schematic. The system shown here includes a PCD Load system that advances the blank into the Turn-Over station, then on to the P4 where it is formed, and discharing the panel such that a robot can loacate and stack or place it as required. P4 has automated change-over so that it can form any sequence of different parts...a true JIT system, ideal for making kits, or for production of ONE.

P4 Bending Systems come in many sizes, from the small P4.1916 with (bend length maximum of 1900mm) thru to the longer P4.3816 with 3850mm bend length... so from 78" thru to over 150" bend length. Bend height is to 350mm or 13" maximum.
Maximum material thickness is to over 3mm CRS basis.

This is a manual system, meaning that the loading and unloading of the blanks/panels is done by an operator, as weel the changing of the tooling to create a new long-side bend length is also manually completed. However the piece rate is very impressive, and the overall cycle rate is quite within acceptable justification otherwise there would be so many of the P2s in service around the world. Lasers by Salvagnini... lasers cut metal..that is not news! What is news iare the Salvagnini laser systems..they can not only cut a fine clean cut in the best overall time for the given resonator , but they can also manage the complete handling of material... that is to say they can load the sheet, and then after that sheet is cut they can pick and stack the individual parts created , and also off-load the skeleton. this is all done thru the software. Your operator can be elsewhere as this system needs limited attention, like loading the material and removing the pile of skeletons, and moving the stacks of cut parts and balnks to upsgtream operations.
Salvagnini offer laser systems equipped with Rofin SLAB resonators and with IPG Photonics Fiber technology. CO2 lasers offer a wide variety of cutting capability and are the bendmark technology in that they are proven, reliable, and productive. Fiber laser in metal cutting is a more recent application of a long trusted technology used in welding. Fiber source offers more energy efficiency and a reduced cost of operations as the laser beam is delivered without mirrors. Fiber source can also cut some materials not normally cut using CO2 technology. When evaluating these technologies it is best to consult Salvagnini to review your requirements and your laser cutting applications.

S4 P4 FMS - Salvagnini offer a number of line configurations of Flexible Manufacturing Systems. These may be systems that include a S4 Punch/Shear in-line with a P4 Bending System, or may involve Lasers, RoboFormers, or other modules that can offer a range of production capabilities to meet a User's needs.
The S4 P4 FMS shown here include automated loading of sheet to a S4 Punch/Shear. The S4 processes the sheet into blanks that are feed to the P4 Bending System or stacked at the Stacking station immediately adjacent the S4. The line also includes a buffer stores that acts to help regulate or balance flow over the line, or permits introduction of blanks from other sources into the line so that the P4 output can be kitted to meet a particular requirement. The P4 bending system is able to produce successive panels or product that are of different dimension, hence production of a series of single different parts is possible making kit production feasible.
This line has an economical batch size of ONE.
